I have a friend who helps make the Amazon TV series inspired by the Harry Bosch books, and I've become hooked on the show. I've now read a couple of the Bosch novels, and I've started grabbing any that I come across. I found this one in a Little Free Library in the Outer Banks, NC.

Harry Bosch is retired from the LAPD and is working as a private investigator. He has also signed on as an unpaid Reserve Officer with the San Fernando PD. And so he finds himself working two cases at the same time, in each of his new roles. For the SFPD, he is working to solve a series of rapes that he has identified as being the work of a serial rapist. The profile they build of the rapist suggests that they need to find him before he escalates to murder, lending a deep urgency to the search. Meanwhile, he has also been hired by an elderly billionaire to see if he has any heirs. This search takes Bosch back to his days in Vietnam as he tries to locate the son of the billionaire's long ago lover.

Fast paced and filled with the usual Bosch attention to detail, this story weaves the two cases together as Bosch struggles to balance the needs of both investigations. Fans of Harry Bosch will not be disappointed, and those who love a good mystery thriller will certainly enjoy this as well.
