Bradecote & Catchpoll Worcestershire - October 1143 and a mysterious killer.
In the post winging its way to its next reader
Arrived safely. Many thanks, two readers here and a possible further reader in Scotland afterwards! Looking forward to this.
Mr Flutterbies9 annexed this as soon as he saw it come in so I do not think it will be any time on tbr.
I was correct - for both of us! Mr Flutterbies9 enjoyed this rather too quickly for my liking and passed it on to me saying virtually nothing about it so that I could "form my own opinions".
Well, I did. Again a convoluted plot well set in the period and the engaging characters doing just that. The villains are a little more 'hidden in plain sight' but nonetheless difficult to comprehend effectively, though that was dealt with by a neat little twist in the storyline. Life is moving on for the main characters as well and the resourcefulness of Walkelin is emerging nicely as Hugh Bradecote's discrete romance elegantly sidestepped through. Serjeant Catchpoll shows how wily he can be when the occasion calls for it too. Altogether a good follow on from the 'Ordeal by Fire'.
We both enjoyed this and there is a plan for this book.
