The simplicity and repetition of Eleanor's life, week in and week out, makes her feel alternately fine and unfulfilled. However, a single act of kindness causes the walls Eleanor has constructed around this life to erode, forcing her to confront the issues she had been looking away from. The hardback release spent ten weeks in the }Sunday Times{ top ten
Eleanor Oliphant has learned how to survive - but not how to live
Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.
Eleanor Oliphant is happy. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled life. Except, sometimes, everything.
One simple act of kindness is about to shatter the walls Eleanor has built around herself. Now she must learn how to navigate the world that everyone else seems to take for granted - while searching for the courage to face the dark corners she's avoided all her life.
Change can be good. Change can be bad. But surely any change is better than... fine?
An astonishing story that powerfully depicts the loneliness of life, and the simple power of a little kindness

I was laughing out loud until page 257, Eleanor and her socially-awkwardness were hilarious, her descriptions of people and places remind of Sheldon (from Big Bang Theory) without the weird scientist tag on it...
But then something changed and things got bad... And I was awake with the book until 2.30 am because I had to know what the hell was happening to this crazy-but-oh-so-genuine lady!!
I don’t remember the last book that made me stay up late... so this is a solid 4* book!
