A Quick Bite (Argeneau Vampires, Book 1)
4 journalers for this copy...
I've read quite a few book of the Argeneau's series already, and finally get around to reading the very first one. The books more or less are enjoyable on their own, but it's still fun to see the debut of many characters, and as usual the humor makes it an enjoyable quick guilty pleasure.
Lissianna is a vampire who faints at the sight of blood. Her mother decides to find a psychologist who specializes in phobias for her. What a delightful birthday surprise, a hot guy tied to her bed, and it's not just dinner, but a life mate!

The premise of a vampire fainting at the sight of blood sounded fun. And boy on this extended weekend I needed something fun and light. I enjoyed it enough to finish it but thatβs about all.
The writing was terrible. Bad cliches, showing and not telling, 200+ year old vampires coming across as high schoolers, except the twins who were more like middles schoolers (they were only 17, I think), and the list goes on and on. I did finish it but I was scanning in many places where a character went over in their mind for paragraphs and pages when only a few sentences would have sufficed.
But, many people enjoyed it, so Iβm sure Iβm in the minority. There were the occasional cute moments but not enough to rate the book better. :/

I've read a few of the books in this series out of order. This was a light fun read perfect to start the new year with. I feel like these vampire romances are sometimes good sometimes bad, always a guilty pleasure to read. This with it's vampire who faints at the sight of blood was cute. But I wished there had been some sort of resolution to Lissie's phobia.
Left propped up on top of a paper towel dispenser in the women's bathroom.
