Wednesday's Child is an evocative portrait of one man's life, recounted through poetry. Exploring the experiences beyond verbal language, these poems echo through the soul with a common nostalgia. Captivating and full of emotion, this collection offers enthralling insight into a man, his life and his African heritage. Gerhard Meyer, writing as whitedesert, is a native of South Africa. His forefathers arrived in Cape Town, South Africa in 1692 from Europe. Born in Johannesburg, Mr. Meyer now lives and works in Cairo, Egypt as the Chief Operating Officer at a facilities management company. He likes the raw loneliness of the desert, and finds tranquility in its expansive skies. Wednesday's Child is the author's first book. He is currently working on a science-fiction novel. Not my cup of tea.. I got quite a amateurish feeling from these poems. Maybe someone else likes them.
