Definitely a very good read. This is serious literature, not something to pass the time with. I'd never heard of the author or her work so I'm very pleased to have discovered someone new. Thanks to the previous bookcrossers for letting this book circulate.

Passed on to me by a friend. I am passing to another. Eleven stars if I could. I will read everything else by this author. I had just come off a disappointing jag of reading a few meh books and this one jolted me into remembering all the fabulous novels that await me.

Great story-telling and characters. I grew up in the area where this novel is set (and where the author grew up), and she captures it perfectly. Now must figure out who to pass this book to next. . . .

Refreshingly good writing!
