We had a superb "Herstory" tour. So many women passed through this place. So many stories.

A place of humiliation and exploitation. Of sorrow and death. Of needless suffering amongst natural beauty.

The drama was presented with skill and emotion. I enjoyed every moment, especially when I was roped into being a cockatoo for the gossiping women in silent solitary confinement.

As an old lag myself, I knew something of the games they would have played to flummox the busy prison officers.

Glad that some of the site has been preserved and that the history - or herstory - is being retold so that the memories not be forgotten and fade away.
