A father attempts to claim his children back from the Irish Government, after he put them into temporary care.

Found at a street library in Hobart.

Journal Entry 2 by kiwiinengland at Wellington City, Wellington Province New Zealand on Saturday, February 29, 2020
Told from the point of view of 8 year old Evelyn, you read about Ireland in the 1950’s. The poverty, discrimination (religious, race, and gender) as a father fights to get his children back from state care.

The two-ish years spent in care appear to be the safest and happiest time for Evelyn, although she misses her brothers and being part of her family. Her father appears to want his children back not because he loves them, but he needs control and hates to lose.
