WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Released in pub
Found amongst the BookCrossing books on the window-sill bookshelf at Jeremia’s Taproom tonight and I’m thrilled to be travelling over the festive period and thought this could be just the thing for a short flight!
Only picked it up initially as the shelf is a bitty overcrowded and I’m hoofing some books across the road to EDINBURGH’s CITY CENTRE, Scottish Youth Hostel at the corner of Annandale St & Leith Walk. But now I’ve sat down to make a Journal Entry I’ve got intrigued…
---------------------
Book burble: What is her husband's secret?
Miranda Cooper's life takes a terrifying turn when an SUV deliberately runs her and her husband off a desolate Arizona road. With her husband badly wounded, she must run for help alone as his cryptic parting words echo in her head:
"Be careful who you trust."
COME AND GET US by JAMES PATTERSON & SHAN SERAFIN (2016) | ISBN: 1-78653-085-6 / 978-1-78653-085-1 (UK PB) | Publisher: BookShots, Penguin, Random House

OK the book puff for the series of BOOK SHOTS lays out the intention for these thin books to be “Short, fast-paced, high-impact stories” that are impossible to stop reading, “All killer, no filler.” Pleasingly fast paced, COME AND GET US worked energetically to fulfil that promise with the tension deliberately racked up to its highest notch and then some. Undeniably there are some ‘saves’ that push the believability envelope but let’s not quibble as all that excitement was highly entertaining. I can imagine reading more books from this pair.

Certainly I whizzed through this and on the last day of 2018 this was poised to be one of my three last ‘Controlled Releases’ of the year however I ran out of BookCrossing admin time in favour of Festive moving picture fun! Passed to Flutterbies9 & honorary BookCrosser MrF9 in Somerset.

Received from rainbow3 just prior to her leaving Somerset after the festive break. Will no doubt read in a trice as well. I think these should be good for a short book break between others.
Afraid MrF9 will not be getting the chance to read these short stories as I have a plan for these which requires them to leave here sooner than he will get around to them!
A very readable short story with a great amount of pace which that works well. I'm not so sure with this pairing whether I would be tempted to pick further issues in a series up, but then again, this short story was not so obviously a lead in to a series but rather a short, sharp, extremely fast paced run to the finish.
I'll leave it at that and say that there is a very soon to be executed plan for this.
