Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI

This was a depressing but informative chronicle of the systematic subjugation and killing of the Osage people in Oklahoma for their rich oil resources, and the beginning and evolution of the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover. It is meticulously researched. Although it begins with the author's rendition sounding a bit subjective and embellished, it proceeds with an exhaustive (and sometimes tedious) recounting of names, dates, and facts. It is a valuable, though not particularly enjoyable, read.
