After You
5 journalers for this copy...
This paperback was given to me by my daughter-in-law for bookcrossing. It is the sequel to the well-known novel and film Me Before You and follows up the story of Lou Clark after she has lost the love of her life.
I've already read and enjoyed another copy of this book a while ago but was pleased to receive this one for bookcrossing.

This book will be sent to another bookcrosser as a surprise RABCK.

Welcome to bookcrossing -you have found a travelling book. Please make a journal entry now to say where you found the book in case it has been moved. Then, when you have read it, please come back and make a further entry saying whether or not you enjoyed the book and why. It is now yours to do as you like with it, pass it to a friend or just leave it somewhere different for someone else to find and help it with its' journey. Of course if you can't bear to part with it at the moment then keep it, but please let me know that you have found it. If you join bookcrossing, which is free and spam-free, you can follow the book on its' travels as you will get an email each time it changes hands, but if you prefer to remain anonymous, that's fine too. Please also say what you intend to do with the book next. Thanks for coming onto the site to let me know you have found the book.
I already have books travelling in many countries around the world-a list can be found on my bookcrossing profile.
When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

A surprise RABCK . Thanks daffodil-2 đ
A successful sequel to 'Me Before You', cleverly written to make you smile one minute and reach for the tissue box the next. The ending was a little over dramatic but I like the way Moyes can change the mood from 'silly humour' to useful advice in how to deal with grief.
Posted to another bookcrosser who had it on their wishlist - enjoy!
Thanks! I loved âme before youâ so curious to read this one. Thanks for sending!
Now it has been years since I read the prequel âMe before youâ and I remember that book being an emotional rollercoaster leaving me sobbing in tears. It was breathtakingly beautiful. So as a sequal, it is hard to live up to a book like that. Yet, I think âafter youâ does a pretty good job.
Not as emotional as the first book. But still beautiful, with a bit of humor and a lovely storyline. Jojo Moyes at her best. It continues with the life of Lou, who is sort of in the midst of one big black hole of grief after losing her former âemployerâ and best friend Will. She tries to find her way, but is so lost and can not remember how to live her life without Will. Until lilly shows up.
I liked the character Lilly, she seemed very genuine as a teenage girl. I also liked how a lot of the characters in the book grew, changed opinions and were portrayed not simply as black-or-white / good-or-evil, but somewhere in the middle and changing depending on the situation. Except for Lillyâs mom, who I thought was so selfish and a horrible mom.
âI think she loves me. But she loves herself more. How else could she do what she doesâ - Lilly
(A quote that reminds me of the relationship I had with my own mom, who ironically is named Lilly)
Somehow I did think like last 70 pages could have been cut a bit, as it felt like the author was kind of stretching the story to get to a page quota or something.

I always try to post my controlled releases with real stamps. If you are not a collector yourself, you might want to check out this post on the forum about a stamps sweeps that Iâm currently organising (closed) or this one about Bookcrossers who collect stamps. A lot of Bookcrossers collect stamps for charity, so itâs nice to find them a good home!

Good involving story with a number of funny and/or likable characters and an funny take on teenagers. I could see the story lines creaking into place a little, setting up the ending, but at least it all made sense.
She is apparently a best selling writer, so I'm on to check out a few more of her books, which I've already picked up here and there.
