Although this is written in novel format (Jeanette wasn't born when her grandmother was young), I am classifying it as a biography. On that note, Bookcrossing really should include an historical fiction category when you register a book. Anyway, I really liked "The Glass Castle" and so far, I am enjoying this book too. This is an author who can grab you on the first page!
From the cover: "[an] eloquent tribute to a pragmatic heroine...a powerhouse - fast-moving, fearless, and impossible to forget". - Michelle Green, People Magazine. "[Walls] is the third generation of a line of indomitable women whose paths she has inscribed on the permanent record, enriching the common legend of our American past." - Liesl Schillinger, The New York Times Book Review

A wild ride, so many twists and turns - a real page-turner. Although Jeanette obviously wasn't there for all the events that took place in her grandmother's earlier days, she has brought everything to life in vivid detail. And what a life it was! So many adventures and interesting characters. I am reserving this book for my daughter-in-law who liked "The Glass Castle".
