Fantastic research and photos. Some may be surprised or a little disappointed that a large chunk of the book centers on The Great War and the affects it had on the household of Highclere. I loved it. My favorite season of Downton was always season 2 and how it displayed the topsy-turviness of the world at that time, especially for people whose lives had never truly had much real meaning before. The way Lady Almina came into her own and discovered her true calling by opening the estate and later Bryanston Square as a hospital for wounded soldiers, running both with efficiency and purpose, was inspiring.
