Maggie Murphy was one of the few survivors in steerage class when the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in April, 1915. The traumatic ordeal caused Maggie to vow never to speak of it to anyone. In 1982 she does speak of it in detail for the first time to her great-granddaughter Grace. By breaking her silence on the subject, Maggie finds healing she never thought possible and the experience also affects Grace in her own way. This was an excellent read written with compassion, and also a page turner as the reader discovers the fate of all those who travelled with Maggie.
