Picked this up at the library book sale, for BC. But it looks good, so I may have to read it before sharing.
:-)

From the cover -
Although she's funny, smart and lovable, the world of Katie Jeffries Cannon Smith Robinson Coomers is falling apart.
Her fourth husband, Clarence, has suddenly announced at a family picnic that he's abandoning the marriage and is leaving his sons with her; she's lost her job; and she's drowning in debt. To top it off, her tough-as-nails mother won't stop harping on the weight she's gained from the foods she's been eating for comfort, as if the scale held the answer to all of Katie's woes.
Like millions of women, Katie decides to tune out her real-life troubles by tuning in to the Internet. There, she sheds her plus-size wardrobe and emerges as SilkyDreamGirl, an identity as luscious as the desserts she craves. Soon Katie's imaginary self, who is self-assured, in control, and very sexy, starts taking charge in Katie's off-line world. Charming, fast-paced, and clever, this triumphant tale is a terrific treat that's low in calories and high in fun.

I really enjoyed this quick read. Very believable problems in her life, too much (interfering) family, kids, job problems, finances. The only aspect I had problems with was - who has 4 ex-husbands? But I guess that made it more fun, trying to keep them all straight. My only other problem with this book was, why did she have to lose weight (or at least get down to the "perfect" weight) to get her life straightened out. But I guess that was part of the journey. Loved the bits about the online chat rooms, and her "cyber" life. Now I'm off to look for a recipe for lemon meringue cake ;)

Received this in the mail today; thank you, MaryZee! I'll be looking forward to this morsel after my current read. :P

I enjoyed parts of this one, but probably would not read it again. Instead of having fun trying to keep the ex-husbands apart, it just got me confused. ;)

I did enjoy her cyber life. Her story is realistic in describing the effects of her cyber experiences...at first shy and shocked at what 'happened' in chat rooms.

All in all it is a good story, with memorable moments, but it didn't hold my attention all that well.

I'll be passing this one along to another bookcrosser. :)

SilkyDreamGirl is on the move!

I'm sending this one along to KarmelK as part of the Well-Travelled Wild Release Challenge. I'm hoping that this Silky Dream Girl has a good life and travels far and wide to share her experiences...and her culinary talents. ;)

Recieved this today from Yokaye for the Well Travelled Wild Release Challenge.
Thanks for this, the culinary aspects make it perfect for me. I gave it a quick read. Interesting. But I had a hard time relating. I'll release this today just in time to get a Dual Release with the Chef Challenge.
