Another one of those books that everyone should read. Yes, we're in a mess, any commentator can tell you that, but this book explains how we can get out of it, and ends up sounding a cautiously optimistic note. There's a lot to do, and a lot of people to convince, but the idea of taking control of local democracy is one that really appeals to me and the central premise of this book, that the accepted narrative needs replacing rather than just challenging, is absolutely spot on.
