Disaster strikes and sea levels rise, flooding London, just as a woman gives birth to a baby. This is sparsely and beautifully written, focusing on the stages of growth of a baby with only a little information about the collapse of society going on in the background. I really enjoyed this, the fact that the disaster is left so vague and the people have only initials makes you focus on the details, the baby, the relationships. I'm not sure what to make of the ending though.

I enjoyed this book. It is quite different, but in a good way. Beautifully and sparsely written indeed.

Found at Rice Lake in North Vancouver and what a neat idea I've never heard of this.

Although a short book it took my awhile to get into, a different style of book for me but the story was very good. It was beautifully written but yes, sparse and I was always wanting more.
