I found this softcover in this Little Free Library in Boylston MA while dropping off some books of my own. It's from Gregory's series of historical-fiction set in Tudor times; see also The Other Boleyn Girl. This novel focuses on Catherine Parr, sixth and final wife of Henry VIII. This period in her life is also central to C. J. Sansom's Lamentation, from the excellent "Matthew Shardlake" series, and is I think more sympathetic to Catherine! [Knowing her history, it's sad to read accounts of her life; she lost two husbands before Henry married her, and she more or less had to accept him even though she was in love with the roguish Thomas Seymour. While it might seem like a happy ending to know that after Henry's death she did indeed marry Seymour, he continued his rakish ways - and poor Catherine did not long survive the birth of their only child...]
