Thanks for this book. Looking forward to reading it!
The story was ok, but not remarkable. I found the writing style a bit trying too hard to be poetic. I also thought the characters were too black and white, where the poor Snow family is just misunderstood and the rich McAllister family is the root of all evil. There’s not much gray in how the people are portrayed and how they react in the events that occur.
It tells the story of a paper mill town, a bus crash, the death of a teenage girl and years of history that is creeping up from under the surface.
It takes about 190 pages before the story picks up some pace and a lot of the knots are being tied up in the last pages of the book.
