Gripping story of a 30 year old Public defender lawyer in DC, working his guts off for low pay and engaged to a gorgeous woman with parents from hell. He's approached by Max Pace, a man with no background, with a mega-bucks legal case against a drug company. Lawyer takes it on and wins millions making a name for himself (plus several million dollars) within six months - the name being "The King of Torts" of the book title. He takes further cases, and gets wrapped up in insider dealing on the stock market while he's at it, and then the rug is pulled from under his feet and he finds himself being sued for multi million dollars as well as under investigation for insider trading by the FBI. Fast paced gripping yarn!
