Pachinko is a 2017 novel by Korean American author Min Jin Lee.
From the bustling street markets to the hall's of Japan's finest universities to the pachinko parlours of the criminal underworld. Lee's complex and passionate characters, strong, stubborn women, devoted sisters and sons, fathers shaken by moral crisis, survive and thrive against the indifferent arc of history. (From book cover)
This is a family saga that starts in Korea and follows the life of Korean exiles in Japan. A very engrossing and interesting read. I am taking this to the Mainz convention with something in mind.......
