A deliciously disturbing, compulsively readable debut domestic suspense--prepare to meet The Other Woman: there’s nothing she won’t do to keep you away from her son ...

Emily thinks Adam’s perfect; the man she thought she’d never meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who shares a deep bond with the man she loves.

Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose his mother Pammie. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily gone forever.

The Other Woman is an addictive, fast-paced psychological thriller about the destructive relationship between Emily, her boyfriend Adam, and his manipulative mother Pammie.

Emily is in love with Adam and now it is time to meet his family. Well, we have all encountered a mother that is hard to get along with but Pammie takes it to a whole new level. What is worse, is that I cannot tell you! Sorry, this is a believable story that will have you turning pages quickly to see what happens. I read this in two sittings! This has what you want in a story you read: good characters, plot twists and a total surprise in the ending. I would highly recommend this book for those that like chick-lit and suspense/thrillers.

This was a very quick read and it definitely has plenty of twists, and although I did suspect some of what happened at the end, it was still very much a surprise ending. I think however that there seemed to be some plot holes, or at least minor contrivances that detracted from my enjoyment. Overall it was good. I think that my main issue with the novel was the main female character - Emily is just such a doormat. I realize that this is how the psychological game is played out, that there are master manipulators who chip away at the self confidence and self esteem almost imperceptibly until it becomes impossible to break free, but Emily does not come off like that. She is just whiny and just plain stupid. I think with a more sympathetic female I would have liked this even more. As it is, I still found the story compelling and good.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I was in the mood for a thriller and this fit the bill. It was suspenseful and I had a hard time putting it down because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I agree with what Bkind2books said about the book. I figured out some of the plot twist, but not everything. And I had the same issues with Emily and the plot holes. I still found the book riveting, read it very quickly and enjoyed it. It seems like a good book to read on an airplane trip.

This book is in the Little Free Library. I hope it finds someone who enjoys it.

Released for National Read a Book Day.
