Mr. Mercedes: A Novel (The Bill Hodges Trilogy)

On the positive, this is different from other King novels as it is a detective story (which I'm a fan of). And not as a gory a tale as other stories.
But overall it was disappointing (which is a huge disappointment since I was interested in the whole trilogy). A key 'action' moment in the center of the book was terribly contrived, which made the outcome obvious. Then at the end of the novel, Bill Hodges (whom this whole trilogy centers around) fades into the background during the climax. Two minor characters then become embolden and race around to clean up the danger.
But it is a quick read for a 500+ novel.
