Louise would give anything for a good night's sleep. She has a new baby, and now a new lodger who is also causing sleepless nights. This book was written in the late 1950s when family dynamics were very different. Still I can't decide if the author is describing a normal domestic situation from that era, or if she is trying to shock us. It took me quite a while to figure out what the lodger was up to. Not a bad mystery.
