Fade (Wake Series #2)
2 journalers for this copy...
I usually don't register and release my hardbacks, but this one is a duplicate - not sure how I ended up with two copies (especially of a book that I didn't end up liking that much!), but there it is. I got one of them at the Green Valley Book Fair in Mt. Crawford, VA, when I was down there visiting my aunt one summer in the mid- to late 2000s - that might have been this one, but I'm not sure.
Journal Entry 2 by Iddylu at Little Free Library #11753 - 56 Middlesex Tpke in Burlington, Massachusetts USA on Wednesday, August 8, 2018
I nabbed this from the Little Free Library on this rainy day, while dropping off some books of my own. It's the second in a trilogy, and looks nicely creepy.
Later: Perhaps a bit too creepy, in the realistic/painful/unwanted dream-invasion sense - my own dreams are weird enough without my having to tap into other people's! And when the dreams intersect with a horrifying and all too real-world-fear scenario... Ghosts and vampires I can take, but carefully prepared sexual abuse is too much.
Plot aside, the writing style was a bit choppy for my taste - I think it added an edgy tone, but it didn't quite work for me.
[There's a TV Tropes page on the trilogy with some entertaining tidbits.]
