I enjoyed this collection of accessible poems, which was my introduction to the work of Billy Collins. My favorites were "House," "The Peasants' Revolt," "Theme," "Eastern Standard Time," "I Ask You," "In the Evening," "Reaper," and "See No Evil."

I have this love/hate relationship with Billy Collins's poetry.
I get what he means about the type of poetry that he prefers. But honestly, I find that there are few really good pieces but a lot of them fall short of the mark for me. The problem with the type of poetry he likes, is that the content has to be incredibly compelling all its subject matter and that's a tall order. He's got no other devices really to lean on. So a lot of it just falls flat.
So I read his stuff, but most bores me. And then, there are few really good pieces here and there. So take what you want from that opinion! lol
