Wife picked this up at Chapter’s store closing and was intrigued by the title. I enjoyed reading about the old Bond character.

Another James Bond thriller. It brings back some of the characters such as Pussy Galore, Miss Moneypenny, M, Smersh and introduces a new character -Jeopardy Lane. The book has all the usual James Bond gadgets and and another death defying situation that he manages to get out of. I loved the book and found it hard to put down.

Holding onto this one for the next reader.

So with the covid19 physical isolation or retreat as I call it, I decided to read all the books On my shelf and so picked this one up. I find that I am not as fond of reading books in which have been movie or tv shows as the actors are in my mind and that doesn’t always work with the books. This one, in the beginning I had Roger Moore’s voice and then at the end I was picturing Daniel Craig. Go figure.

But I did enjoy this book. Our family are Bondies and watch all the movies over and over. It was nice to actually follow a story because mostly I get caught up in the action of the movies and don’t even know what the story is!

It is also funny that in the movies I accept the crazy names like Pussy Galore and Jeopardy Lane, SMERSH but they seemed silly in the book!

None the less it was a good read.

With the covid19 pandemic we haven’t been meeting as a group as we are all practicing social distancing. Sing song so kindly offered to pick up Costco groceries and delivered them, along with some books for me. She also took some of mine, this being one of them!

I needed to get past the first bit, when the thought occurred to me - Bond really has slutty bahaviour. Just finished sleeping for 2 weeks with one woman and starts thinking bedroom thoughts about another. Story turned out way better than I thought it would. even though he really does get through some tricky situations in rather bizarre ways.

I am taking this to our Covid friendly backyard meetup (warm chair and blanket are packed!) Small group, so hope I will find a taker. If not, there is always our travelling Covid book boxes.

I am taking this to Heritage Time Out at McDougall tomorrow as we are having a book exchange. Any books left will be taken to a book sale by two of our members.
