I bought this book at a local library book sale, and I've had it for a while now. I've always been interested in other cultures and the Japanese culture has been of particular interest to me.

I thought it would be fun to read the bits about cultural festivals in Japan, and as dietary restrictions frequently make eating Japanese food difficult for me, I thought it would be fun to look over the "Festive Foods" recipe and see if I can adapt them for myself.

An old friend of mine married a Japanese man, and this weekend they have invited my husband and me to check out a Japanese festival in Toronto with them. I thought this might be a good opportunity to pass this book along, so I'm registering it now!

My husband and I had a great time at the Summer Festival with our friends today. While we were there, I left this book propped up on an easel in the vestibule.
