Here's the thing...there is nothing wrong with this book for what it is. It's a love story you can see coming from the first couple pages and there are no surprises. The word "trite" keeps coming to mind. But I guess for what this is, it's not bad. This is mindless reading. I think I just expected more from Meg Cabot, maybe. I didn't like or connect or even care about any of the characters. Well, I guess I kind of like Peter. And in the end, I think I would have liked the book better had Cal & Jane not gotten together because that would have at least been a twist. I would never say, "Don't read this book!," but I can't imagine myself recommending it to anyone either.
