Child's Prey
4 journalers for this copy...
The story of the biggest tragedy in my hometown of Pearl, MS. I place this in memory of my friend and neighbor, Lydia Dew, who was taken that October morning.
This book will be sent to a fellow bookcrosser in France, Harobed82.

The book arrived today, thank you for the swap!
And my condolences for the loss of your friend.

This is a very well-documented book.
It is highly disturbing, because it shows that people had seen or heard things that should have worried them. But nobody took Luke Woodham seriously. He was bullied, had a "not-loving" family...
Maybe things could have turned out differently if someone had taken the time to really speak to him and help him.
Or maybe he just had devil inside, and nothing could have changed what he did. We will never know...
I couldn't read the entire part of how he and his "friend" killed the dog Sparkle, it was too horrible to bear.
I was surprised by the pictures inside the book, some show the wounds of the victims, it's the 1st time I see this kind of pictures in a book.
I will now reserve this book for the "Non-fiction sweepstakes".

Thank you Harobed82 for sending me this book and thank you for the nice little bookmark also.
I haven't read any true crime books before and I'm not sure I have the nerves for this, but at least I'll try.
There has been some school shootings in Finland also and also at least one or two that were prevented because someone could see the signs and took them seriously.

So much sadness in this book. The book describes how the crime affected the whole community, not just the criminals and the families of the victims.
I didn't look all the pictures only few school photos of the victims and some mugshots of the accused. I'm glad Harrobed82 mentioned there is pictures of the wounds, so could avoid them.
