No Graves As Yet: A Novel of World War I

This is the first Anne Perry novel that I have read. She is most known for her mysteries set in Victorian England. This book is set a bit later, and it seems to be the beginning of a new series.
The book takes place in 1914, openning on the day the Archduke Ferdinand is assisnated. Our Hero is Joseph Reavly. (An interesting note is that this book is dedicated ot Joseph Reavly, who was Anne Perry's grandfather).
Joseph's father had contacted his brother, Michael who was a part of the British Secret Service with a cryptic message about bringing him a document about a conspiracy. If the conspiracy is carried out John Reavly believes it will shatter Britians honor. On the way to London to give the document to Michael, both John and his wife are killed in a car wreck. The brothers search the car and learn that the document is missing. And so the stage is set.
I haven't read Anne Perry's other books so I don't know much about her writing style. An awful lot of this book takes place inside Joseph's head. Instead of telling us that his thoughts were a whirlwind of questions and emotions she takes us inside those questions and emotions. I was kind of uncomfortable with the style. I'll be interested to hear what others think about this book.
