Once, long ago, I attended a Quaker meeting. It was a powerful experience of silence and of connection, it seemed to me, with the Holy Spirit. I have never been back and do not know much about the Quakers. But the beautiful design of this book and the powerful phrase HOLY SILENCE drew me to this book at the thrift store. I am not sure when I'll be able to read it but I'm looking forward to it. This is a brief book.

I think the expression is too many books, too little time. I read at this and like J. Brent Bill and his devotion to his faith very much. However, my Faith radically departs from his and I find I am more interested in the history of the Quakers than I am in their faith. So I've decided not to try for a second attempt at reading. I will let this book go.
