I found this softcover in this Little Free Library in Portsmouth, NH while dropping off some books of my own. I love oysters, and have eaten some at the Union Oyster house, so I was pleased to find this book! The book includes a history of the building, which was built very early in the 1700s and has been home to a variety of restaurants over the years. There are tidbits about the Freedom Trail (the Union Oyster House makes a nice stop in the middle of this worthwhile walking tour), and about other local history, including the Molasses Flood.
And then there are the recipes, for oysters and lobster and other types of seafood, as well as classic Boston dishes such as Boston baked beans and Boston cream pie...
