Synopsis:

Two dead bodies are found inside a wrecked car on Golden Gate Bridge, and the scene is more gruesome than anything Detective Lindsay Boxer has seen before.

There is more to these deaths than a simple traffic accident.

While Lindsay pieces this case together, she gets an unexpected call. Sightings of her ex-colleague Mackie Morales have been reported.

Wanted for three murders, Mackie has been in hiding. But now she's ready to return to San Francisco and pay a visit to some old friends...

I enjoyed Yuki's storyline and Mackie's continuing storyline but didn't care for the takeaway killers part of the story.

Still happy to continue reading this series, all the way to the end, if there ever is an end.

This arrived along with the previous book at my daughter’s place in London, where I was able to collect it when I arrived a few days ago. Thanks so much for sending, although I have no idea where this heads after me.
All the best!

This is here as part of the bookcrossing spiral set spinning by Ythan, but I'm not sure where it rolls next.
On the whole this was entertaining as ever, with the continuation of the Mackie character and two other dramas evolving at the same time. Cindy plays a larger role here, but struck me as annoyingly reckless rather than brave.

(Possible spoiler: halt!) One irksome element, there is no real resolution of the belly bomb case as there is no final confession or entirely conclusive evidence. Also, there is no guarantee that there will be no future incidents.
Is this because this is just what happens sometimes? A dash of reality, when mystery readers so enjoy a mystery to be laid bare and solved? I did check back after finishing the book to make sure I hadn't actually skipped a few pages (it was late at night...). And then checked to make sure nothing was missing from the copy I have here. I am curious to see if this crops up again in a future book in the series.
Once again I am grateful to bookcrossing and Ythan for making these books available.
(ah, seems I am the last in line...)
