I watched the film a number of years ago and remember enjoying it, so when I spotted this in a charity shop I picked it up, where it sat on my shelf for some time. With workmen being at the house and decorating taking over I couldn't give it the attention it deserved and some parts need full attention. That said I did enjoy this book, and it makes me wonder if this sort of thing actually went on. I also wasn't sure about the ending, in some ways I understand why it was finished this way, but I hoped for a different outcome.
