When Doug is bitten by a vampire and becomes undead, he is doomed to be a fat and nerdy fifteen forever, sucking blood from cows as he is unable to ask a girl out. Then comes Sejal, an exchange student from India that he wants very much to date.

The book starts out fast paced and humorous ("I've been punched by a vampire, an Indian girl, and a panda... I should be in a video game.") That goofy silliness kind of remind me a bit of Christopher Moore. Unfortunately, vampirism seems to bring out the darker side of Doug, and somewhere along the way the character loses his charm and becomes obnoxious. Like when Sejal says she's not interested, he replied, "you don't mean that..... nobody says stuff like that to me, anymore." I almost want to stab a stake to end his miserable existence. Also, Sejal is supposed to suffer from a "google" illness but she doesn't act like that. And I don't know what to make of the ending. I re-read it, think I get it, but am not sure...

Anyway, setting this aside for the vampire book box.

This vampire is a bit different from the gorgeous sexy males in the other books. At last some variation.

This book rode to the end of the box, since Azuki said they didn't need them sent back at the end. Unfortunately, the box got soaked, and several books have some water damage. This one seems to have escaped unscathed.

I read this a couple years ago, so I'll go ahead and move it to the Available shelf.
