I really love this book and have read it a few times. I picked up this copy to send to a Bookcrossing friend.

And off it goes in a Christmas parcel to a mystery destination. Happy reading!

It only took a year to read this, that must be some kind of record for me! I enjoyed the different wives points of view - the story really made it clear that the narrator is often the hero of their own story, I felt a lot more sympathy towards the wives after reading their perspective!

Another book Discoverylover tempted me with while I was in Wellington...

Alternates between funny and depressing, often in the space of a single paragraph. As Discoverylover says, the initially unsympathetic characters definitely grow on you as the story progresses, and you learn why they behave as they do.
