"When Rachel Bertsche first moves to Chicago, she's thrilled to finally share a zip code with her boyfriend. But shortly after getting married, she realizes that her new life is missing one thing: friends. Taking matters into her own hand, Bertsche develops a plan: meeting people everywhere from improv class to friend rental websites, she'll go on fifty-two friend-dates, one per week for a year, in hopes of meeting her new Best Friend Forever."

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
on someone's wishlist
Thank you for thinking of me! Yes, this book has indeed been on my wishlist for a while. So glad to finally get a copy.
With hind sight, this is probably not the best book to read during this stay-at-home pandemic, with all its talk about social gatherings: happy hours, book clubs, dinners... which just makes me miss the old lives more. Not to mention that it's pretty much impossible to
find a new BFF just by going online, even if this book prompts me to go look for one.
Reading this book, I realize that I don't have any BFF. Period. Not local, not out-of-town. I have friends I can chat with, but not to the degree like it was in school, where we can chat about everything and nonstop for hours. As our lives diverge, my school friends and I just have less to share, and adult friends I get to know just don't have the time and need to connect as deeply as teenagers do.
This book makes me a little nostalgic, and a little sad, but not enough that I need to find a bunch of strangers to share my life stories with.
Set aside for the memoir bookbox.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Putting into memoir bookbox. Hope another reader finds it interesting.
I took this from elizardbreath's bio/memoir box. I'm realizing at age 66 that I don't have a lot of BFFs and may need this guide!
I don't have a BFF, but I don't see myself embarking on a quest like this (especially during the first year of a marriage.) I kind of feel as if Bertsche only did this just to get a book out of it. I didn't realize that she was a blogger first, so I will give her a bit of slack on the book deal.
I have friends, just not a BFF. I used to have one, but she unfriended me in real life. My husband is my BFF now:)
