I got this softcover at Barnes and Noble today. It's the first of a series about a little professor who's often mistaken for a child - but who winds up responsible for tutoring four young princes. It inspired a 2017 anime.

It's a rather fun story so far, as Heine, the tutor, learns more about each of the princes, including their reactions to having a tutor in the first place. There's a nice variety of personality tropes here, with unexpected twists; for example, Bruno, the third brother, appears to be the "Stoic Spectacles" type, brainy and standoffish - but as soon as he realizes that Heine is even more knowledgeable than he is himself, he turns into a blithering fan-boy! Similar flips involve the other princes; the tallest, intimidating-looking one tends not to talk much and would appear to be threatening, but he's a teddy bear at heart. And so on. There are hilarious scenes as Heine finds a way to motivate each of the princes, with some panels presenting teacher/student facedowns as if they were climactic battles in an action manga.

Despite the generally funny and heartwarming tone, there are already plenty of hints at darker back-stories. Not least is the concept that the younger princes are being trained and tested to see who would be the best heir if the oldest prince should fail - and then there's Heine himself, with a mysterious background, and his midnight musings to himself that "I don't belong here"...

[There's a TV Tropes page on the series, with some entertaining tidbits.]
