The Rings of Saturn

A wandering ramble of a journey of kinds, taking in potted histories of wars, geographical snippets and the author's own memories as he takes a walk through Suffolk. I had seen the film Patience (after Sebald) which had a lilting, almost hypnotic feel about it, although the book is more jarring. you can dip into any page of this and something will hold your attention. It's a book that gets referenced a lot. Interesting, but one I found I couldn't sustain just because of the sheer amount of material in it.
