I got this good-condition softcover at a local Goodwill thrift shop. It's a collection of photos and commentary about a variety of traditional Japanese structures, from houses to shrines, with architectural and historical detail. There's a sad epilogue in which the author notes that between 1964, when the last of the photos were taken, and 1986, when he revisited the area, the majority of the houses were gone, replaced by modern structures...

I left this book in the Little Free Library; hope someone enjoys it!
