An American Agent was the only hope the U.S. Government had of unmasking the mole. Pat Morley, on of the CIA's top agents, had more than enough to handle with this case. He had to protect the defector, who knew less about the mole than everyone thought. He had to trap the mole, who was busy covering his tracks. And he had to find the mole quickly, before more state secrets were lost. Despite glasnost and perestroika, the Cold War was heating up and the stakes were world domination."
I found the book confusing - too many characters within too many levels of American government. But I was tired and wanted an easy read, so maybe it's not that bad. Published in 1989, so an old story.
