This is one of two books I received from our younger daughter when we visited her in her lovely new home in York this morning. Although she sometimes BookCrosses as tree-hugger, she hasn't registered either of these novels, so I'm doing the honours. Thank you - it looks like something I'll enjoy!

Sorry I didn't register this book, and thanks for doing it for me Nu-Knees! Whilst on holiday in Largs, Scotland, earlier this week, my partner took to bed with a bug, and the apartment we were renting didn't have a bookshelf (tut), so I ran out of books to read. I'd been meaning to read this one so I was pleased to see it in the hospice shop for 50p. It's a good quick read. Made me cry but that's not saying much, I'm a right cry-baby so a love story set in an asylum was always going to! It's largely exactly what you'd expect, but the way the doctor develops throughout the story took me by surprise and I thought that addition made it a particularly compelling read.

Beautiful, I loved it, got totally involved in the story and read it all in one snowy Yorkshire day while hiding from the icy wind. Thank you again, tree-hugger!

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 over twelve million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
