The Little Paris Bookshop

An intriguing story with the idea of prescribing books to help people.
Monsieur Perdue owns a book shop but it isn’t an ordinary bookshop because it floats on the Siene River in Paris. He has an uncanny ability to prescribe books to people to help them with their hardships in life. He just doesn’t seem to be able to find the book that heals his broken heart when Manon, the girl he loved more than anything left him with only a letter to tell him why. He has never opened the letter until he does 21 years later. He untethers his bookshop barge and sets sail. We are taken on his journey with his book store on the barge.

bringing to the next meeting to pass onto Peggy who was very much interested in reading this at Tai Chi one evening!
I brought this home from the August meetup at Cravings. Rub hands. this looks so interesting.
Listened to this book (downloadable) while on holidays. Really enjoyed the story and the setting. Ah love, relationships, friendships, the importance of reading letters (not 20 years late!) AND there was a book barge and the main character in the story owned it and 'prescribed' books for what ailed people. Interesting.
I am taking this to the December meetup at Cravings Restaurant.
Picked up at a recent bookcrossing meeting.
Taken to the July meeting! Read on holiday in Europe, though not in France.
