Not sure where I picked up this book, but it has now been read.
Initially I did not give it the attention it deserved, putting it aside for other lighter reading and therefore struggling to get to know the characters and their relationship to each other.
Nearly at the half way mark, I decided to immerse myself in it and got to know the complicated love stories between Toller and Dora and Ruth and Hans, German refugees in London .
Well written and well researched, these fictional characters (mostly based on real people) tried desperately and determinedly to alert the world to the coming dangers of Adolf Hitler whilst fearing for their own lives.
A story of intrigue and deep love, I shed tears as the stories of the main protaganists came to conclusive and predictable endings.

Book taken at the book buffet at the convention. Making my JE, I discover from where it is from... Australia ! Wonderful, I allready love the travel of this book ! :-)
