Permanent Collection (Mad's Rock and Roll Books). Found at 2nd hand bookstore, Re: Reading on the Danforth (Toronto).
'About half way through the book now, and it is EXCELLENT. (From the back cover: "...a substantive record of the man's energy and brilliance after nearly 30 years of standing up when we might have expected him to be falling down" - Observer. "...sensitive, impeccably researched account of Declan MacManus's journey " - Time Out. ) A bit more on the 2nd hand store, Re:Reading: (Pape and Danforth, Toronto) This book was published in 2005. That makes it 13 years old now.
1) It had a publisher’s note inside saying there an updated afterword, was mistakenly omitted, and gave a web address where you could read it. (In other words, the book was a “second”.)
2) Inside the book I found a receipt from Book City, from 2007, and the price then was $6.99. Re: Reading price was $9.99.
Their logic was," Well….2007 was a long time ago".
Wait a minute! That doesn’t work with books.
13 years old, vs. 2 years old - when it was sold at Book City! They let me have it for $7.95.
