GOSSIP FROM THRUSH GREEN returns readers to the delightful English village, neighbour to Fairacre, for a golden summer. But this sleepy, pristine setting conceals a flurry of activity amongst the villagers. Rumour has it that Mr. Venables is considering retirement just as the village's teacher is about to make an important decision. Molly Curdle prepares for a new baby. The kindly vicar, Charles Henstock, works on his sermon -- quite unaware of the disaster that will overtake him. However, there is never any doubt that all will end well in this very English village.
I found this book in a Little Free Library (photograph) in Curtin ACT and took it to read, leaving another book in its place.

An enjoyable read. Written about a past era. Passing this onto Needle-n-Thread.
This book is about daily happenings of people who live in the small village of Thrush Green. One feels we know them all by the end of the story and it's an enjoyable read.

Pleasant tale of village life. Characters stereotypical. A little to much repetition of details.

I enjoyed this book, it reminds me of what life was like many years ago. A nice, sweet book. I did find the large print form took a little getting used to though.
