Journal Entry 1 by greenbadger from St Albans, Hertfordshire United Kingdom on Sunday, February 18, 2018
A doctor's wife gives birth to twins, one of them with Down's Syndrome, but he gives the disabled baby to a nurse to be put into a care home and tells his wife and the world that their daughter was born dead, leaving his wife unable to get over her grief. However the nurse keeps the child and brings her up as her own. An uncomfortable read as the lies they are living trouble the lives of the characters. I was intrigued to see how the author would bring this to a satisfactory conclusion but [SPOILER ALERT] felt that the ending was a bit of a cheat.
