I purchased this book today at a book sale benefitting the local library system. I chose it because it looks like an interesting read. It is a style of book I've read and bookcrossed before, but this one seemed especially interesting because it profiles women from quite an array of different eras and cultures.

Journal Entry 2 by JessicaEby at Cambridge, Ontario Canada on Thursday, December 27, 2018
I am doing some end-of-the-year organisation and I see that I forgot to make a follow up journal entry after reading this book. I hate when I do that because I read this quite some time ago and when it's been a long time, I never remember what I wanted to say!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. If I remember correctly, I thought that sometimes the author's own views on particular events etc come through more that I would personally like them to (I really think that unbiased writing is more appropriate for this type of book as it is biographical and therefore should be very factual, even though it's geared to younger readers), but all in all I thought this was quite a good book. It profiles a great variety of women and I really enjoyed that. I am going to set this book free for others at some point (hopefully soon), but it's one I wouldn't mind having in my own library!

Released 5 yrs ago (2/2/2019 UTC) at Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira, Ontario Canada

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I released this book at the Woolwich Memorial Centre this morning during the CurlON Provincial Championships. I thought that today (being the day with both the kids' Hit, Draw, Tap contest and the Women's Provincial Final) was a good day to leave a kids' book about notable women at the arena. I left it on a table in the seating area next to the concession booth upstairs (the little enclave from which you can see both ice surfaces) during the morning draw.

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of a couple of different Release Challenges here on BookCrossing. First of all, this book was released as part of the "Becky's Hugs" Release Challenge, which is run by BookCrosser ResQGeek in loving memory of his daughter, Becky (N-R-Jyzer here on BC), who passed away several years ago as a result of an accident while riding her bike. More information can be found at http://www.BeckysHugs.com.

Secondly, this book was released as part of the "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge. Elmira was Town #2 for me.
