I often find that that when I watch films/TV series based on books I've read, that they are only very loosely based on the book - the characters names are changed (what's the point?), different plots...indeed sometimes the title seems to be the only thing the two have in common!
However, in this case "Dead Until Dark" is just like the TV series "True Blood" - or should that be the other way round! (The only exception seems to be that Tara isn't in the book...or maybe she appears later on in the series) but while I quite enjoyed the book, it didn't particularly grip me, possibly because I knew what was coming next & I'm not sure I'll be bothering following the series any further.
